The Columbus Kennel Club was formed in 1945. Over the years, members have come and gone, but the goals of the club have remained the same:
The Columbus Kennel Club is a non-profit organization, guided by it's membership, elected officers and Board of Directors.
The Club holds it's annual show in every May, in conjuction with the Crossroads of Georgia cluster in Perry, Georgia. Additionally, various events and B matches are held throughout the year to encourage new dog owners to get involved in the sport of purebred dogs.
FUNDRAISER TO HELP THE FAMILY OF PEGGY HARRIS
On July 10, long-time club member and highly esteemed grooming judge Peggy Harris died in a single car accident. She left behind 10 dogs and her elderly mother. Peggy had no insurance or significant savings.
The Columbus Kennel Club is raising money to help Peggy's mother with the expenses involved in rehoming the dogs, etc. We are raffling off a Mini HD Camcorder with 4 gig memory card. Tickets are only $2 each. The drawing will be Sept 18 at our Responsible Dog Owners Day event at Petco in Columbus.
