ABOUT THE CLUB

The Columbus Kennel Club was formed in 1945.  Over the years, members have come and gone, but the goals of the club have remained constant:

 

  • to further the advancement of purebred dogs
  • to do all it it's power to promote, protect and advance the interest of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike conduct at all AKC sanctioned events
  • to conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials, and agility trials under the rules and regulations of the AKC
  • to disseminate knowledge, conduct classes in, and promote the training of purebred dogs
  • to encourage the training of judges
  • to conduct classes for the training of dogs and their handlers

The Columbus Kennel Club is a non-profit organization, guided by it's membership, elected officers and Board of Directors.

The Club holds it's annual show in every May, in conjuction with the Crossroads of the South cluster in Perry, Georgia.  Additionally, various fun matches and B matches are held throughout the year to encourage new dog owners to get involved in the sport of purebred dogs.
